Within the southeast flank of the Uinta Mountains lies a unique geologic example of uplift and erosion. Split Mountain rises 7,660 ft. above sea level at its summit, towering over the Green River that for millennia has carved its way through the rock. At the base of this eroded canyon lies the Split Mountain Campground where visitors can enjoy the scenic splendor of this geologic wonder.
